Here we are in May, time for Mother's Day celebrations in many parts of the world. In Brazil, the month of May is called the 'Brides' month because more people choose to get married in May than any other month.

UNESCO has declared the month of May 'World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development'. Let's support this with cultural theme party. How about a 'Mexican Fiesta'?

May 5 or 'Cinco de Mayo' is a holiday in Mexico, commemorating the Mexican Army's victory over French forces in 1862. Despite the French Army being better equipped and outnumbering the Mexicans two to one, the Mexican Army managed to defeat them comprehensively. Have a Mexican theme party in May and enjoy the popular game of Pinata together with Mariachi music and Tacos.

Happy Mother's Day everyone!

Here are some calendar activities for May:

1st - May Day

5th - Cinco de Mayo (Mexican celebration) Activities

8th - Mothers Day (Australia, NZ, US & Canada) Activities
