Cross-Cultural Training

Print Friendly Version

Published on Friday 3rd of December 2010 by Solange

On Tuesday I participated in a Cross-Cultural Training workshop set up by Diversicare. I was one of four people invited to present a couple of activities suitable for people living in long term care and coming from a cultural and linguistic background.

The workshop’s objective was to support people working in the field and create awareness on the impact that culture has on communication, health and lifestyle and leisure.

Four countries were represented; Italy, China, Greece and Israel. There were 44 enthusiastic participants: aged care providers, Diversional therapists, activity coordinators, volunteers and I am sure we all learned something new by the end of the day.

Many thanks to Kristiana (PICAP), Taryn and Elizabeth (Diversicare) for organizing a most practical and useful workshop.

Cheers,
