March sees the start of spring in the Northern Hemisphere and autumn in the Southern with wonderful themes for activities and trivia.

March 7th - Clean Up Australia Day
'Clean Up Australia Day' has been celebrated for the past 21 years in Australia and is the nation's largest community environmental organization.

The event was started by Ian Kierman, an Australian builder and sole yachtsman. In 1987 when Ian was sailing around the world, he was saddened to see rubbish continually popping up on both sides of his boat. Ian vowed to do something about it on his return to Australia. With the help of friends, Ian focused on Sydney Harbour and the rest is history. Ian's idea spread to 120 countries, and today there are over 40 million people cleaning up their countries, oceans, schools and businesses.

March 8th - International Women's Day
International Women's Day is celebrated on March 8. This event has been celebrated for the past 95 years in honour of women's achievements in all walks of life: sport, cultural, politics, economic, fashion, art and many more. It is a time to think about the trials and tribulations of women throughout the centuries and to focus on increasing equality and bright opportunities for future generations.
