Check out this site. I did this program after a fall I had and it is really great. It was started at Prince of Wales Hospital OT and PHysio department and has spread to the whole country and also overseas

This covers very useful information expressed simply. It will be a very useful tool for day-care managers and recreation staff in all aged care facilities.

This worked really well for me. Get 3 boxes for men, 3 for women and 2 for any gender. In each box place an object ( cufflinks for men, compact case for women etc). Invite a person to choose a box and then show it to everyone and then talk about it. Great reminiscing activity!
People over 70 will also remember Bob Dyer and Pickabox on TV. See if you can YouTube an old session.

Get a darning mushroom for a talk about darning socks. Large knitting needles and a large crochet hook to try with some wool.
Old school books invite discussion and so do tools for the men.

Are your clients having respite from being a carer of a relative with dementia? do a leisure profile for your clients even if brief will guide you in a choice of person centred activities
Good recreation activities are cards, board games, newspapers and magazines. Try some outside activities enjoying the garden etc, encourage help with the meal and suggestions on what to cook.
However if your clients are very frail or have dementia you might need to plan some sensory activities and activities related to their level of cognition.

Add something to each activity that provides sensory stimulation.
The four seasons make good programs for discussion.
Summer- smell summer fruits-touch-taste
Autumn brown leaves- touch, smell and vision and so forth
