This is a great way for men to form and strengthen friendships whilst having fun! Gather four residents with common interests and encourage them to play a couple of afternoons a week.

It's not just about the game; it's about the camaraderie, enjoying hot or cold drinks, and engaging in lively conversations.

Object:

  • Improve focus and attention
  • Improve hand-eye coordination
  • Socialise and have fun

What you need:

  • Four players
  • Masking tape
  • One six-sided die
  • A few small coins (like quarters or five-cent coins)

Instructions:

  • Gather four friends around a small table.
  • Use tape to make a rectangle goal 20 x 30 cm (8 x 12 inches) in front of each player.
  • Roll a die to decide who starts (highest number wins).
  • The starting player flicks a coin across the table into the opposite goal.
  • The defending player tries to stop the coin with their finger.
  • If the coin lands in the goal, a point is scored and the next player takes their turn.
  • If the coin falls on the floor, the next player takes their turn.
  • The first player to score 5 points wins the round!

I am a Student on placement at an Adult Dat Program, here in Toronto. I tried this with my clients one afternoon as I have several that exit seeks after lunch. They had a wonderful time playing, we had to add another table for more wanted to join, even the staff . What a great resource you have been since I found You.
