Hello Everyone. I want to start a Women's Auxiliary at my facility for my residents. I know I could base on the page of the "Red Hat Society". The idea of a scrapbook is incredible. I have two ladies that work on our garden and help me plan events and ideas for the other residents. I have mentioned to them before to start up an Auxiliary, and I could help to start it up. Also, my mother is an Auxiliary member as well. But if anyone on here has any ideas on how to get the ball rolling, please let me know! I greatly appreciate any ideas.
Thank you!

Hi Michael
We had an unofficial red hat society chapter at our nursing home
I would invite other chapters to visit the residents and we always had a party with each group
We had one group make hats for our residents
We had another group give us some other paraphernalia
It worked out quite well so I’m sure you could get an auxiliary group going
Like I said invite an Establish group in and have them share their experiences with the residents
Having an established group come in is always a good Marketing tool
You could elect officers in your group or take them out as an auxiliary group
If the residents are capable of doing it perhaps they could visit another chapter

Hi Michael, to start a Ladies Auxiliary it is important to have at least 3 or 4 members interested. You are lucky to have your Mom and the two ladies that help you with the garden as possible members. Use your monthly newsletter, bulletin boards, and church boards to recruit extra members. Then have a meeting to establish the ranking: president, vice-president, secretary, and treasurer. When these roles are defined in terms of duty, authority, and duration of terms the group is structured to start. Good luck!
