We use a full size baking sheet and a screen to raise the shirt out of the dye. We helped the residents tie and rubber band the shirts and then took them outside to add the dye. Worked out well and now we do it seasonal. Walmart has the Gildan tee shirts in the craft section for 3.50 a shirt. Good luck !
Hi Janet....get some colored sharpie markers, have your residents draw or put dots or whatever.....then use a dropper of rubbing alcohol and drop it on the item......it will end up looking like you took the time to tie die it and a lot less mess.
A colleague referred this resource to assist in implementing our activities program many years ago. I felt, I had struck 'gold.' It has been immeasurable in assisting to provide new material and ideas to stimulate our clients. I will be a member for my working life. Thank you!
I would like to do a tie dye craft.
I was then making of pillow cases (to eliminate buying different size t-shirts).
I am just wondering how to corral the mess.
Any ideas or tips?
Thanks,
Lynda
Adapt their ideas and this activity to make tie-dye pillowcases. I think it will work.
