** 2019 Message **
The end of the year is an exciting and exhausting time for everyone. For Activity Professionals, it is the busiest time of the year: Christmas parties, a continuous flow of visitors, facility decorations, choosing presents, and planning activity programs for the New Year.
All of this is added to the usual workload and is done graciously with enthusiasm, warmth, and compassion. Some residents are at their most vulnerable during the Festive Season and you will be there with a friendly smile to comfort, listen, and soothe.
Have a safe and blessed season. Renew your energy; both physical and mental, by spending quality time with your family and relaxing with some good books.
As we look ahead to 2020 I want to take the opportunity to say thank you. We are grateful for this wonderful community and feel truly humbled by the feedback and contributions we receive throughout the year. The support you show one another in the forum is heartwarming.
Remember that you make a big difference to the lives of your residents by showing support, empathy and understanding. Your chosen profession is challenging, all-consuming and gratifying and I salute you for your commitment and kind hearts.
Our best wishes for the Festive Season!
May the New Year bring you health, happiness, and peace.
"Let us be grateful to the people who make us laugh; they are the gardeners who make our souls blossom." -- Marcel Proust
