I made my ladies a Handball game to play and an individual trophy for them to take home and one for the centre

I always include a Yodeling Contest for a reason to give away a prize. It spices up the party and is always fun. Begin with a Knock Knock joke: Knock knock, Who's there, Yodel, Yodel who? I didn't know you could yodel! Ha Ha....

I used this as a warm up activity for my community 'cognitive stimulation therapy' programme for people with mild to moderate dementia. I called out the question and all participants correctly guessed some of the rhyme answers; between them all 20 were answered correctly, with only a couple of misses with words that did not rhyme with “light”. It was great to see some of the quieter participants having the confidence to answer.

We love to play Prize Twister!
We keep track the scores for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
I make different size bags of little candies prizes. Anyone plays gets a candy for playing.

We do a Zumba class off YouTube that is seated. Zumba for seniors. I have adapted it a little but my ladies and gentlemen love it. They say they feel like they have exercised!

I called out the first part and the participants had to complete the saying. It was really good to see some of my normally quiet participants confidently giving answers and I think was a successful activity.

I made cards with half the saying in 'normal' text and the rest of the saying on a separate card in italics. I put my community 'cognitive stimulation therapy' group into two teams and asked each team to work together to match their cards to get the full proverb. Once all were matched, team members took turns to read out the proverb, then a discussion about the meaning of the proverb was had. My participants seemed to enjoy the exercise and conversation.

I'm currently facilitating a 'cognitive stimulation therapy' in the community for people with mild to moderate dementia. As recommended by others, we played the balloon game using 'pool noodles' (I cut each one into 3 pieces). It was the most animated I have seen the group, in the many weeks of working with them. We all had so much fun : ) Thanks so much for this resource and everyone's comments.

Can you please tell me how much clay is used per person? I see the tub is either 2 1/2# or 5#.

Another lovely project for our clients. We needed to have some pre cut shapes for a couple of clients who struggled with scissors but the fact that they were having a go was wonderful and they were able to place each piece together with assistance. It was great to see them so proud of their achievement.

This project was a real hit. As we couldn't find coloured paper cups, we found some white ones with patterns on it so the clients painted them instead. The clients really cherished them and made them for family.

I would like someone to give me an idea what subject I can start my over sixties club meeting please. How can I make the meeting enjoyable with a lively conversation. Thank you.

We play this game in our care home. We write the words under the corresponding letter, makes it easier to count up the words after. It's a very good way to get the brain going :)

I'm going to do this with my Ladies on Wednesday. I'm sure they will enjoy the activity and love the finished product. Thanks for all your hard work in supplying us with such inspirational activities.

once you have made your seed bombs do you put them in soil or just leave them as is in sunny position. It says keep the soil moist. It would be great to see the finished product once seeds have germinated.

Dog treats sounds a great idea … i take my dog paddie to work sometimes im sure our resdients would love to make the treats and feed them to their furry friend … something we ate going to have a go at for 26th of august for international dog day the staff are bring their dogs into the home. I'm just curious, why is it called pot luck quiz?

It turned out beautiful! I love this craft as it is not expensive but looks like it should be!

I did this but laminated 3 big price tags and gave them 1 with the correct price and 2 that were wrong. They had to choose which was the correct price tag. I used Dry erase marker. The audience could help. If they won they got a snack or a Dollar Tree prize

I work in a memory support unit. It never ceases to amaze me the resources that are available on Golden Carers. I can always find something to enhance the lives of our lovely residents.

It's amazing game for Seniors !

Last year we had a bring your dog to work day! it was amazing our residents loved it and they were all so well behaved - the dogs i mean lol. We are having them in again on the 26th of this month as it is international dog day. Can't wait.
