Free Activity Calendar for Seniors

What format are you not finding? To the best of my knowledge, we've always had Word Document and PDF versions, which are both still available.

The only difference in the last few years is we now have far more options, you can generate calendars with different page sizes, colourful backgrounds, and much more!

We also have calendar software which is free for Golden Carers members:

I hope that helps :)

A member who wishes to remain anonymous has asked a question:

Occasionally our facilities are put into a 'locked down' state where residents are mostly kept apart, so I'm looking for activities to be able to run with them. Right now I'm playing cards, reading, using magazines and word searches, small bingo groups, writing cards to each other, armchair travel, etc. Do you have any ideas or other 'outside the box' suggestions that I might not have thought of?

Hi Renee!

You should be able to view PowerPoints on your iPhone / iPad using the Microsoft PowerPoint app:

They also have an Android app:

You can also convert it to a Google Slide on your computer first (this is what I personally do), as then use the Google Docs app to view it as well, however, there are sometimes conversion issues:

Hope that helps :)

Hi Rick,

That's an interesting use of the calendars!

I'm not sure I understand the issue though. Slideshow mode on a 16:9 screen should just add black bars left and right. I believe powerpoint has a 16:9 screen mode, so you could drag the JPG into that and re-export if you want an all-white display.

The issue with providing a 16:9 equivalent for each paper size is how vertically short that size is, it would almost always spill onto 2 pages or scale the font to be very small.

If you send a photo of the issue to [email protected] I can take a look!

Hi Linda,

I would love to see a photo if you could take one! You can upload here, or send to [email protected] if that's easier. :)

Novel ways of using the calendars is great to see and can help us make improvements.

Hey Jonathan!

Sorry about this, our fault. An update over the weekend broke the "Tabloid" paper size, but it's now working again :)

Hi Raafa!

The easiest way is always to print on larger paper, more room gives you the ability to increase the font size and include more activities. Smaller paper means less room and smaller font sizes.

Our templates already use the minimum recommended page margins, they're quite narrow. The plain templates also give you slightly more room because the table dividers are very small.

Toolkit, our professional activity management platform, is worth looking at for a better approach to managing calendars:

Hope that helps!

Hi Teresa!

1. Printing calendars from different groups
We are working on a feature to allow this, eventually, you'll be able to select one, specific, or all of your groups when printing calendars. This should be released soon along with some other new features :)

2. Activity Template List
We are noted this and are looking at making activities even easier to schedule and manage. It's an interesting system you've developed for yourself. One solution is to create repeating activities, however, if the activities you're wanting to schedule don't have a regularly recurring pattern, then I understand why you would benefit from activity templates. I'll let you know when we have an update here.

Let me know if you have any other questions or feedback!

Free Music Playlists for the Elderly

Hi Jeff,

You might want to try the Spotify links again, I tested them and they are working for me. If you login to your Spotify account you should be able to start listening to them right away.

Copyrights on music changes constantly and is different for each country, so keeping the YouTube and Spotify lists updated is only something we can do periodically. The playlists were between Spotify and YouTube were close to the same, so you can see what was removed in Spotify.

Hope that helps!

Hi Adele,

We've just added the new backgrounds which were updated on Toolkit, so you can start using them with these downloadable templates too :)
