Hi Natasha,

Just google Free Youtube Downloads and a few will come up, I went to http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/products/dvd/Free-YouTube-Download.htm
I am not a techno phobe however I was able to do this. If you go onto Youtube itself and type in how to download youtube videos, some very technical and smart people have made a video of how to do it. They can even show you how to just utilise the music only too. I am a visual sort of person and Youtube has become my new tutorial ! Good luck with it.

Recycled Book Pages Christmas Wreath

This activity has just come in time. I have a box full of ex magazines that have been donated plus I have a group of Year 6 students coming into our home over the next 3 weeks and looking at various activities to do with our Elders. This activity will prove a fantastic way of breaking barriers and getting the children and adults together in a meaningful activity. Thank you so much !!!

Hi Sheree, I asked people to bring in some old tools and such and had a small mens group of different cognitive levels. We even had someone bring in the old dial phones. We also have a car racing set and get the men to put that up and race cars. How about reminiscing and just organise a "Getting to Know You"afternoon about their past work history. I agree having some food, beer or wine in a relaxed atmosphere is a good start. At times it can take some time for men to commence to relate to one another but when they do it is great.

Hi Sandy, have you connected with the person from council (possibly the Senior Social Worker) who is part of that councils Community Ageing division? You may be able to get some information out in the Council Newsletter that usually is distributed to the area too. Just a thought.

10 Spiritual Activities for people with Alzheimer's Disease

Hi Christiane - how fantastic of you !!! I wish at times our RN's would do the same, only a couple understand what the activity staff are trying to do and that is work as a team. Oh and I am almost there with implementing this activity from my other comment just by mentioning this activity I have found several more people wanting to join the activity and a potential volunteer too !! Just love this site.

10 Spiritual Activities for people with Alzheimer's Disease

Thanks for this article and just in time too. We have a deeply religious, young man with Vascular Dementia just come to live with us and I was trying to find ways to assist this gent. Your ideas will be put to good use, especially reading Bible passages with him and others too !! Which gives me further ideas. I agree with Angela, simple and achievable activities.
