We celebrated our 60th anniversary of our facility and I too wanted a little bit of a different entertainment. We had music after our BBQ lunch was completed. However, I decided to do something different and hired a magician. He went from table to table outside and in .. I was leary that people would think he was not age appropriate. So , prior to him coming we had a lengthy discussion in regards to the people he would be seeing and performing for. My Director General was also hesitant .
This magician was very professional - He really did some amazing tricks and almost illusionist type performances. We still cant figure out some things he did.
All that to say, you need to discuss with your entertainers on how to plan and approach their audience and it can be a great success.
Good luck!!! Patricia CHSLD BAYVIEW Quebec, Canada
Patricia I have been looking for evaluation tools for programs that need to be revised and either replaced or removed from our monthly schedule. I was wondering if anyone from other centers have an existing tool or how do you go about evaluating your programs? I do my daily/monthly statistics and we can see if numbers drop. I am looking more to see if any other centers do this. Thank you.
I would like to thank you all for everything you've done to help people like us, giving us the new ideas and confidence to carry on doing what we do. As you must be aware it's not the easiest job in the world, especially trying to get a smile out of someone. I wish you all the possible good wishes for the future and do hope you will continue for many years to come.
