Hello I'm a member of a team which runs The Open Door Memory Cafe in England. I just want to say a big thank you to everyone involved with Golden Carers! The resources you provide are wonderful! Thank you so much for all you are doing for our lovely people with memory loss. I wish you all well. Many thanks again. Elizabeth
We run the Open Door Memory Cafe in Blackburn, Lancashire UK, so we aren’t in a residential setting. It’s the 3rd birthday of the memory cafe next month, and we’re wondering about playing party games. We are of course having a birthday cake and a musical session! We’ve put a quiz together with questions relating to the number 3, but we did wonder about some party games. Have you any suggestions for these? They can’t really be very active games, and I really don’t want to patronise our lovely guests. Any suggestions for what works well for you would be very welcome! Thank you! Elizabeth
I love Golden Carers! When I first became an ‘Activity Aide’ I spent hours scouring the internet looking for meaningful activities for elders experiencing cognitive decline. I finally found ‘Golden Carers’! I’ve passed along ’the find’ to the Activity Director of where I work. Thank you again for all that you do - Golden Carers is much more than a great resource for activities - it’s an education on how to provide ‘life’ to both workers and our elders.
