Hi all I am a new day service coordinator for a new day service for 15 ladies (Golden Girls) aged from 65 to 70 years of age and all of which have intellectual disabilities. Some of the ladies have more capacity than others and some are more mobile than others. Many of the ladies are non-verbal. I have been asked to build a programme of meaningful activities for the ladies Monday to Friday from 11 am to 1 pm daily, also all the ladies would not attend together, we have pod system due to Covid Restrictions, The Maximum number of ladies I would have would be 5. I have a few ideas ie. Card Making, reminiscence work, Flower arranging, chair exercise, Arts and crafts, bingo hand and head massage etc.
I would appreciate any ideas or advice on how to start this programme up so that the ladies all get something meaningful and fulfilling from it.
I am loving the Golden Carers membership. I am finding great resources that I used on the first day of membership. The membership is of much value working as both an Activities Director, and also an Activities Consultant. I look forward to continuing to use the site and also the forum.
