We recently had a go at growing avocado stones that I had seen on Gardening Australia, and much to our residents joy we had success with six out of ten of the stones. Gardening Australia's web site gave me all the details on how to do this, and It certainly is worth trying. Activities Therapist Going to try this out!
... Cristine Diversional therapist/Nurse Hi Jackie, I also have problems in the past with noise levels and staff. I had asked staff to be mindful of the noise but with no improvement. I now use laminated signs I put up on entrance doors, and near the nurses station when activities are in progress. The signs say RESIDENT REST TIME QUIET PLEASE...and RESIDENT ACTIVITY IN PROGRESS QUIET PLEASE...these signs have certainly helped to solve the problem.

Thank You Speech for Nurses & Staff Retired We are now closed for the Christmas break but have enjoyed the recent planned activities, particularly those we adapted from Golden Carers. Much enjoyed is basketball, shooting into different size and numbered cane made baskets as the attached photo shows
Registered Nurse We have this activity and it is popular with our residents. We set up tables in our activity centre so residents can interact freely. If your facility allows alcohol we serve wine, beer and one resident supplies her own rum, of course there is a limit.. we also serve soft drink
