Songs for Seniors Quiz

As a Volunteer with Dementia Residents singing so many songs from their era is always so well received and as a lady in my 70's I enjoy it too. Has saved me a lot of research too. All the Residents so enjoy the vast amount of quizzes I print off and I also loan some to friends WI group.

I made a playlist on Spotify to go along with this game and it was such a hit! I loved seeing my residents come alive while they remembered the lyrics and songs! We all sang along to almost all the songs! Thanks so much!

Thank you for this excellent resource for music. I have been doing a piano time with residents with dementia for a number of years, with lots of songs, but still found quite a few here that I can add - and the quiz is a great idea! I know how extensive your research was in to providing this for everyone, as I had created my own lyric books in my volunteer position - thank you so much for your generosity in sharing this with everyone! One thing I am wondering about, however, is the lyrics for "Have I Told You Lately that I Love You". This is something that there are two completely different songs (melodies and lyrics) but share the same title. The one that you have included I recognize as having been sung by Rod Stewart (and perhaps others), but I know that there is another one that I think might be more in the era that you were going for. It is more of a country song written in 1944 and recorded in 1945 by Gene Autry (and later many others). Just not sure which one you were intending. Both are great songs.

Would you consider creating a Motown finish that line? I work with a senior population that wouldn't know the lyrics to many of the songs on the list here as this isn't very inclusive.

Yes thanks heaps, these song list certainly take a long time to put together. Could you send me some names of good words&lyrics songs cds. As residents always fine music very simulating, they have beautiful scenes in the background.

Ok, I was looking for a "Name that Tune" for seniors on the internet and this is what popped up. I was so impressed with the detail on this paper is one of the reasons I signed up. I am very glad I did.

This is truly FANTASTIC!! You certainly did a serious amount of work and I for one totally appreciate your efforts. I only work part time but I try to incorporate music as much as possible as we all do what comes best to us. This is a wonderful activity on all level and for all stages of dementia where I work.
