Am very happy to join this wonderful community. Could you please provide further information on black history poster .Thanks.
Hi Blessing, we will have some black history month posters ready for you very soon! Thank you so much for your feedback. Welcome!
Blessing that is a great suggestion in the meantime you could do some of these things for BHM: Make a poster/collage of magazine pictures of great African Americans in history: Joe Louis, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Toni Morrison, Barack Obama, and more. Encourage clients to make postcards from Africa; a drawing activity depicting the landscape and animals. Listen to music that celebrates great singers; Billie Holliday, Nat King Cole, Louis Armstrong, and others. Ask your Chef to cook a dish made famous by slaves and their descendants; Jambalaya, red beans and rice, collard greens, sweet potato pie. Also, this site http://offbeat.topix.com/slideshow/15926/slide32 has very beautiful pictures of African Americans in the 1930s and 1940s. Choose half a dozen happy pictures and print, enlarge/laminate to show and reminisce with clients. http://offbeat.topix.com/slideshow/15926/slide28
Here is another reason to celebrate Black History Month especially if you have residents with dementia.
