do you have any recommendations for what to read aloud to a group of passive participants?

Have you tried animal stories that have good photos? My residents enjoy some books I have about unlikely friendships between different species of animals. The photos that accompany the stories are gorgeous and really help engage them in the story. I also have about 3 different volumes of Chicken soup stories which I picked up second-hand. They are a great read and well worth what I paid for them.

Have you tried using chicken soup for the soul stories?

Try to make them interactive

ask questions as you read the story

Read with a lot of expression and excitement as you do
