Common questions

Is this a real calendar?

It's an example our team planned using the same tools members use, so feel free to click around. The Calendar Gallery has more full sample calendars, plus real calendars shared by members of our community.

Do I have to plan every month from scratch?

No. Sessions can repeat automatically every week or month, you can copy a whole month across in one click, and when you're stuck for what to run, tap Ideas and your session is named and ready.

How do I add notes or colour to a day?

Sessions can be colour coded with the colour picker when you create or edit them. For a message, heading or anything in bold, open a day's menu and choose Show text notes. The toolbar gives you bold, italics, underline and colours.

Can I start the week on Sunday or hide weekends?

Yes. In the planner, the sliders icon opens View options, where you choose the day your week starts and whether weekends show. Each calendar remembers its own setting.

How many calendars can I have?

As many as you need. Keep separate calendars for different groups or areas, switch between them from the header, and a single event can show on several of your calendars at once, or on all of them.

How do I rename or delete a calendar?

Tap the little arrow next to the calendar name in the header. Each of your calendars has a Rename and a Delete button beside it, and New calendar lives at the bottom of the same list.

How do I print or download it?

Tap Print in the planner header to open the designer. Pick a template, background, colours and fonts, decorate with icons and photos, then tap Download. The arrow next to Download switches between a print-ready PDF, an editable PDF and a Word document.

How do I change the background or theme?

In Print, open Background to pick a colour or a photo, or upload a picture of your own. Templates styles the whole month in one tap, and Shuffle picks a random look when you'd rather be surprised.

How do I fit everything on one page?

In Print, open Paper and set Pages to Single, or switch to landscape for more room across. A busy month also fits better with a smaller font under Text. When you like the result, save it as a template so every month starts that way.

Can I add pictures or messages to the printed page?

Yes. In Print, open Decorate to place text, photos and icons anywhere on the page, including the blank cells at the start and end of the month. The preview shows exactly what will print.

Why does my Word download look different?

Word documents are made to be edited, so the layout is simplified. Your decorations come across, though fonts and exact positions can shift a little. The print-ready PDF is an exact copy of the preview, so when it needs to be pixel perfect, choose PDF.

Can I change how times look?

Yes. In the planner, the sliders icon opens View options where you can switch between 12 hour and 24 hour times. The printed calendar has its own time style, found in Print under Text on the Events tab.

Can residents and families see it?

If you choose to share it. Sharing is off until you turn it on, and then one public link always shows your latest months. Put it on a TV and it plays as a slideshow of today's activities.

Do I need a membership?

Yes, to create your own. You're welcome to explore the samples for as long as you like, and a Golden Carers membership unlocks your own calendar along with thousands of activities for seniors.
