Carts are not only a fun way to reach every resident throughout your community, but they have become especially crucial to engagement during pandemic precautions.
Transform your next cart into an old fashioned Soda Shop by using any of the ideas below.
Note: Ice Cream Sodas are also known as Spiders.
Pull out your box of 1950s decorations out of your activity storage and use some of the pink, white, and black to adorn your cart. Add a tiny jukebox to hide your smartphone playing a playlist of barbershop quartet music or sock hop inspired tunes. Dress to match your theme as well before your head down the hallway.
Get creative with your dining department to serve old fashioned soda floats (with a choice of rootbeer, coke, or orange soda) topped with vanilla ice cream. If you don’t want to go with soda floats, you can serve milkshakes or malts; your residents will love it no matter what!
In addition to your sweet treats, you can pass out trivia sheets or word finders related to all things soda shop, or pass out vintage soda shop postcards with an ink pen for residents to write a note to mail to a friend.
