Great suggestion on welcoming new residents. How about a guide to local amenties and sign posting for online services.
A little swag from your community can be fun too. The pen and notepad could have your logo. Other items with your logo could include a water bottle, or a reusable shopping tote so that if they are there for a short term stay, when they leave they have something to put their things in, plus every time they use in in the greater community, it's free marketing! Also, a channel guide for the TV is helpful.
