Im planning our trip to Australia next month, we are going to do the activities in the morning followed by a barbecue.

My residents love armchair travel, and trying new things from different countries

Hi Susan

I use Golden carers armchair travel, and resident Knowledge, as they are well traveled, we done our first one last month on south Africa, and it went down very well as 4 residents had lived there in different areas, so there was lots of reminiscing. Our cook also grew up there so was able to provide snack and drinks.

i would recommend doing armchair travel, my residents get a lot out of doing this.

Hi Cheryl

the barbecue sounds like a great addition to the armchair travel

Let us know how it turns out

How many armchair

trips have you had?Golden Carers has many trips you can have with your residents or you can design your own

Hi, Michael, a couple of quick classic meals Australians like, Fish & Chips, or Sausage Rolls. It can be store bought.

Hi Michael

Just serve some thing to drink or serve any thing that the kitchen will make for you and somehow related to Australia

Something like pudding is really easy

You could have things to mix in the pudding anything you would like to make it more interactive for your residents

I am having a roadblock with what dish to serve during our ArmChair Travel to Australia this month. The kitchen staff has told me it has to be something quick and easy to make and won't take a lot of time. I've been looking up different types of dishes that are served in Australia, but all are an hour or more to make.

If anyone has any ideas, please let me know!

Thank you!

Hi Michael.

So a couple of really quick ideas would be

Fairy bread (white bread with butter and then sprinkles on top, it sounds weird but i promise its extremely Aussie!)

Lamingtons

Sausage Rolls with tomato sauce

Mini meat pies, again with tomato sauce

Cob loaf dip

ANZAC biccies

Tim Tams

Vegemite sandwiches
