Coffee Cake Recipe

Depending on where you are in the world, "coffee cake" can mean two very different treats.

In the United States and Canada, coffee cake is usually a cinnamon-spiced cake served with coffee rather than made with it.

In the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Australia, coffee cake is a coffee-flavoured sponge, often topped with coffee buttercream and walnuts.

Today, we're sharing an Australian-style coffee cake recipe adapted from the Australian Women's Weekly. Baked in a loaf pan, it makes approximately 10 slices and is perfect for morning or afternoon tea. We've finished ours with a light dusting of cinnamon instead of the traditional walnuts.
