Hi Sally, you are quite right Dementia Action Week in Australia goes from Sept 16 - 22. It includes World Alzheimer’s Day on Sept. 21. The theme for 2019 is ‘Dementia doesn’t discriminate. Do You? The best way to celebrate it is to host a morning tea or a BBQ lunch and invite residents and their relatives. The focus of the event should be the current year theme question. People can take turns (residents and relatives) to share their discrimination experiences and how it affected them. If you can get a guest speaker on the subject all the better. Add some fun in the event by leading a reminiscing session (School Days or My Favourite Teacher) or a singalong.

I am new to Golden Carers but wow so happy with all the wonderful resources that are available. Even after a week I don't know how I managed without this wonderful tool. Looking forward to the year ahead!!
