We are looking to upgrade our activity prizes. Right now, we use chips and raisins, which aren't suitable for our residents on texture-modified diets. We have the usual yogurts and custards in the fridge, but we want something 'extra'—something special that feels like a real treat for those on soft or pureed diets, rather than just their everyday snacks.

Do you have any recomendations?

Perhaps you could try mousse cups, trifles or ice cream? Even serving them in sundae glasses or decorative cups could make them feel more like a real treat.

I often do pamper vouchers for my diabetics as a prize which we then use later as a one-on-one activity so a face mask, or manicure or foot/ hand soak and massage foot or hand cream in. Or milkshake voucher, where you can make them a yum milkshake later of their choice, or jelly cups etc. Or I collect random cheap or donate jewelry from people garage sales and OP shops and have a paper bag lucky dip box.

You’re quite a special angel for assisting everyone here. It takes a special kind of person to work with seniors - they are so often not given the respect or credit they deserve for having lived such long, meaningful lives. Thank you again for the wonderful ideas.
