This bright and cheerful craft suits all ability levels. Participants can create layered flowers with ruffled edges and button centers, or simply choose a cupcake liner to glue on as their contribution. The more flowers made, the better - see how big your garden can grow!

Materials:
- Light green backing cardboard
- Cupcake liners (patty pans) in assorted colors, shapes and sizes
- Scissors
- Glue
- Buttons
Process:
- Invite participants to choose their favorite colors and patterns from the cupcake liners. Invert each patty pan and fold it flat. If they’d like, they can use scissors to cut petal shapes such as scallops, triangles or thin strips.
- Using glue, layer the cupcake liners. Participants may choose a single layer or build several stacked layers.
- Create the flower center by gluing one or more buttons in the middle.
- Once many flowers are ready, arrange them close together on the backing cardboard to form a vibrant collage. The tight spacing helps them stand out in a 3D effect.
- Display the finished garden in a shared space to bring a summery feel to the community.
