i am pretty sure that you have to bake the mugs after you have decorated them for the sharpie to stay on

I did the same, unfortunately the mugs get put in the dishwasher and the mug's decoration disappears
I actually did this with my group a few months ago but the drawings washed off after a few washes. I actually had the clients put their names on mugs with what they drink, ie June coffee white one sugar.
