Get everyone involved in this vibrant group art project that is sure to be a conversation piece! Collaborative projects are lots of fun and a wonderful way to foster social interactions.
Materials
- Peacock template, leaving a lot of room for feathers. Use a large piece of cardstock.
- Feathers that residents can cut, color, decorate, and add to the peacock's plume.
- Markers, glitter, and other supplies that residents can use to adorn their feathers.
Instructions
- Download templates and pass out a feather to each resident. You can also choose to give a feather to each club in the community or to each family member during a family event.
- Residents can cut out and color, glitter, and decorate their feathers using craft supplies.
- Tape each feather onto your peacock to create a plume. Mount the peacock drawing prominently in a central location of your community
Admire the hard work and your completed creation!

Hey Natalie
So glad your residents liked this activity
I loved the pictures you shared. Thank you.
My residents loved making this peacock. After coloring in each feather they decorated them with jewels. Everyone who visits comments on how pretty it is.
Thank you.
We altered this group feather project to make a Thanksgiving turkey for a billboard in our memory care facility. Our residents thoroughly enjoyed this project!
Hi Gail
What a great idea
Thanks for sharing
We love a collaborative project and everyone was so happy with how our peacock turned out.
We do have someone who did the peacock body differently.
Thank you for the idea 🙂
Hi Berni
Thanks for sharing this
Our residents really enjoyed this as a multi-media project. Some used paint, some used markers or pencil crayons to color, and some simply used stickers, and pretty much all of them added stickers at some point - once one started they all wanted to bling up their feathers! At first they didn't quite know what to expect from their own feathers but they sure loved the end result!
