St. Jude's Anglican Home is a 55-bed complex care home located in Vancouver's west side. Originally founded in a character home by the Anglican Church for single older women with low income, it expanded into a new wing in the 1990s but remains relatively small with two residential care floors. It is now a non-profit with funding from Vancouver Coastal Health and community donations with residents of all genders, aged approximately 60-100+, diverse backgrounds and spiritual practices welcome. We embrace the Eden Alternative and Gentle Persuasive Approach for residents who live here, many in the last stages of life, so Recreation Therapy here focuses on improving quality of life, connection with others and nature, and sharing your story.
