My love and respect for the ageing has brought me back to the Activity Department many times through the years. I started out with my certification when I was 19 and recertified later to see what had changed. I later received my Administrators license for the education. Not my thing! I developed the first department at an Extended Care facility in Bakersfield California before moving to the Central Coast. I also worked at 3 Skilled Nursing facilities, 4 Assisted Living, an Adult Day Care, 2 Memory Care and was an aide in the Occupational Therapy field. I would occasionally drift away for a new adventure such as owning my own cleaning business, selling real estate and managing a glass blowing business. I always come back to Activities. I love what I do! I love to serve people, make them happy and create memories!
