I have used this activity for our residents, the outcome was surprising, residents were surprised at the memory recall. A great activity.
Thank you Salena, I tried this with dementia clients in the latter stages and it was thoroughly enjoyed. There were eight residents in the group, one man has difficulty focusing and speaking most of the time. One of the other group members remarked at the end of the session 'That is the most talking I have heard ...... do ever and he just wanted to keep talking!' This particular resident had a question ' Something that was a really special occasion for you?' He spoke about special birthdays in his youth. I have to say this really touched my heart, I was so happy for him to be able to join in again which he only does very occasionally AND get so much enjoyment from it!
