Songs for Seniors Quiz

Thank you so much for this great resource. I run a very small lunch club with a fab team of volunteers and this will be great for our next 'name that tune' activity

I really appreciate the time and dedication it must have taken for you to do this! My mum has been in a care home a week and there just isn't enough going on, so with this fantastic resource I'll be able to instigate some impromptu singalongs !

Thank you for this excellent resource for music. I have been doing a piano time with residents with dementia for a number of years, with lots of songs, but still found quite a few here that I can add - and the quiz is a great idea! I know how extensive your research was in to providing this for everyone, as I had created my own lyric books in my volunteer position - thank you so much for your generosity in sharing this with everyone! One thing I am wondering about, however, is the lyrics for "Have I Told You Lately that I Love You". This is something that there are two completely different songs (melodies and lyrics) but share the same title. The one that you have included I recognize as having been sung by Rod Stewart (and perhaps others), but I know that there is another one that I think might be more in the era that you were going for. It is more of a country song written in 1944 and recorded in 1945 by Gene Autry (and later many others). Just not sure which one you were intending. Both are great songs.

Would you consider creating a Motown finish that line? I work with a senior population that wouldn't know the lyrics to many of the songs on the list here as this isn't very inclusive.

Yes thanks heaps, these song list certainly take a long time to put together. Could you send me some names of good words&lyrics songs cds. As residents always fine music very simulating, they have beautiful scenes in the background.

Ok, I was looking for a "Name that Tune" for seniors on the internet and this is what popped up. I was so impressed with the detail on this paper is one of the reasons I signed up. I am very glad I did.

A simple one that has been good is from Melodic memories - they have sing a long lyrics to print in Gospel, Oldies and Christmas.

Wow. Just wow. This resource created one of the most memorable activities I've ever done. We could only get through about half today but I'm going to create a Spotify playlist so I can play the songs with the lyrics next time. Looking forward to it!

*Guys, if you ever get stuck for music for an activity i.e., last post, anthems, hymns, any song from the wartime, relaxing music etc. use the Spotify App! It has pretty much every song you can think of, costs $13 a month and needs internet to access songs but so worth it!

My residents will love singing to these songs surely going to bring some memories back and a great quiz too
