Hi, Has anyone done a "Resident based walkathon" - tallying up residents steps that they do and plotting it on a map around Australia?

Hi Allison, Yes, just recently we "walked" to our Cairns facility from our Brisbane facility. Our physio dpt worked out how many steps and each week we had a destination, eg, Bunderburg, Rockhampton. We did an armchair travel each week and had some reminiscing about the places residents have holidayed in the past. I found the library to be a gr8 recourse for dvd's. Hope this has been of some help. Janelle.
Golden Carers is a phenomenal and creative resource of activities for the senior population and people with dementia. They also provide resources and support for the caregiver too. I liked all the different types of activities that were available. You could pick and choose from a plethora of items the activities appropriate for your group. Keep on doing what you are doing. So many people's lives have been touched and improved by your website. Your website is a blessing to many organisations.
