Hi there! I am trying to put together a little "box" of supplies to put at the nursing station for after hours therapy. This idea came about because therapy staff are usually there until 6pm, and I am trying to bridge the gap between therapy and clinical staff who keep asking for ideas when residents wake up in the middle of the night, or want to do something but can't sit down for long enough to watch a movie/show.
So far I have a deck of cards with some instructions on some basic games, some small arts and craft supplies, where some of our other stuff is located etc. Do you have any ideas of smaller activities that I could put in this resource box? Thanks in advance!
I have a group of ladies who love folding, I have a small basket of pretty hankies and small scarves. Or just give them a pile of towels or extra clothes. Also, large print or kids word finds are popular... and quiet.
Once again Golden Carers has come to the rescue. I live in a retirement village and calling on my years as a Diversional Therapist I constantly use the Golden Carers for new ideas to run my group in the village. I especially love the Read Aloud Audience Participation activity and I always pick a very shy resident to take a part. It is amazing how much it brings them out of their shell. The quiz always helps keeps their minds active and gives them such a feeling of self worth when they get a correct answer.

Also old sequin clothes they love to feel them
Word searches - one lady laminated them & then a white board pen is used so they can be wiped & reused.
