Hi, You could try, Mental Olympics session with riddles, crosswords, word searches, and general knowledge quizzes. Also Card Jokes - copy jokes from Golden Carers and print and laminate into cards; put into a container in the middle of the table and ask each lady to take one and read the joke. Also, making fruit kebabs, picking horses for the Melbourne Cup, Feet-tapping Line Dance, Finish the Songs.
Hi Tonia, yes it is a challenging subject because the older generation is not as open-minded. I hear that many LGBT people goes back to the closet when they need care, very sad... However, there are folks trying to change things such as 'Free to be Me'. You could also play a game of carpet bowls; all you need is a bowling set, a piece of carpet and an area to suit. This game was is successful in our facility with males and females.
