Hi, Just wondering if we can have some updated information regarding 2017 the Year of the Rooster please and maybe a poster to go with it. Many thanks for your fantastic resources, much appreciated.
Hi Heather, I have found any of the Chicken Soup for the Soul books have worked well. There are many of them with different themes so you can often relate it back to an activity or theme you might be working on. They are great stories that can stimulate lots of conversation and at times emotions too! (In a good way)
Hi Avery, We use a daily tick sheet in our facility. We use a code of A for active, P for passive and O for offered (which is when you've offered an activity and they said no) so you could really do anything that covers their needs. We actually had this code for some time but just used to tick then the Auditos noted it so of course now we have to and do use code!
We just had this article on our Sunday programme here in New Zealand last night!! Very inspirational and lots of staff saw it, so it has created lots of talk today!
I really appreciate this website and this is my second year using it. I am a Activity Director in mental health. We have residents from all ages at our facility so all the resources made available here can be utilized in so many ways. I am so thankful for this site and will continue using the resources for my residents
