I'm going to try this one with a resident with very poor dexterity, but she can still wind wool!! Will probably need rubber gloves tho, so not sure how that will affect the dexterity ... but definitely worth a go!

Lifestyle support - aged care
This is a lovely activity for our older generation however I do recommend gloves be worn when handling fresh english ivy leaves ... they can cause skin irritations even tho allergy to ivy is rare. Marilyn

These can also be made from collected Australian leaves, flowers etc and laminated. Take your residents for a walk, have someone carry a basket (particularly good for those with sight impairments, dementia, or in wheelchairs)and either you or others "collect" the items residents point out for you. A good way to awaken the senses, and another lovely way to celebrate all things Australian. Take them back and use them as above....

Lifestyle support - aged care
This recipe is very similar to mine ... I am thinking to use it (or request kitchen to make) for the coming Commonwealth Games Day Event at our facility - to have some \"real\" Indian food along with pappadams and maybe some \"lassie\" ....
I have been a member of Golden Carers for several years and still find it as amazingly beneficial as the day I became a member. There are so many ideas and the support is wonderful, my job is made much easier with the help of Golden Carers.
