bah hum bug or not there is nothing as wonderful as person to person contact socialising as other residents can lead in showing others how to do things EG knitting , crochet , painting , simple craft ideas and the list go's on.
yes they are and this is your way of measuring how you residents are doing and what they are attending , important info for care planning reviews and your 3 monthly evaluations i suggest get a copy of the standards and see what is required under standard 3 that helps a lot . good luck and remember everything you do big or small makes a difference in someones life each day .
hi please remember that people with Dementia are adults with a deficit it the first instant we must respect them as such activities should meet there needs and boost there self confidence and self esteem this in turn provides quality of life and a feeling of wellness in the person . There is a fine line we must not cross even when they seem child like . i hope this gives some help when you decide on your program all the best
This website has been such a tremendous asset to me in providing such great ideas. The clients have enjoyed the picture bingo, quizzes and I am looking forward to doing word ladders with them for the first time very soon. I also print out crosswords and word searches and make up booklets for them to do in their rooms. I will be definitely rejoining.
