Hi Solange,
I have checked with local TAFE who only have courses commencing beginning of the year.
All online ones too expensive and unfortunately TAFE do not do it by correspondence/online.
Thank you so much for your reply
Kind regards

Can I suggest Chicken Soup For the Golden Soul or Golden Years. This is a lovely book and I borrowed it from my local library to read the short stories to residents with dementia. Regards Marg. PS like Sharon suggested there are a lot of Chicken Soup books just ask at your library

If anyone likes to sew there is a simple idea running a length of fabric long enough to fit across a single bed (36") plus pocket drops on either side deep enough to hold a magazine. The width is that of the pillow. This can be made in neutral colours with the fronts of the pockets in a colour to coordinate. These slip under the pillow and give storage for magazines a book and reading glasses etc. Could always include a block of chocolate that would also fit nicely!

Residents would be able to use them and staff whilst they may not have a single bed it would make an early start for Christmas present for a child or elderly relative.

Hi all

I have just recently joined Golden Carers as I volunteer with Dementia Residents, and as I thoroughly enjoy this, wish to expand my knowledge by doing Cert III in aged care.

Can anyone recommend a good online course that is not crippling expensive.

Thank you in anticipation.

Hi I am a volunteer with Dementia residents providing activities etc (I am truly blessed to enjoy their company). Whilst having a lot of contact/carer in the past for family members with dementia, I would now like to do my Cert III in aged care. Would love to hear anyone's recommendations as to which courses are best to complete by correspondence and most economical way to achieve this.
Kind regards
Marg NSW
