End of Year Message 2023

What a year 2019 has been, unfortunately it seems world wide.
Now we can all look to the future and hope and pray that 2020
will be 'the' year when all good things happen.
All the very best for Christmas and the New Year. May it be a happy
and healthy one.
Many thanks for everything you do.

Drum Circle Activity for the Elderly

Hi Tess,
It's a wonderful idea; we have now started our drum circle. Like most of us the cost of
drums is way over the top so we decided to use empty large coffee tins with
the plastic top also Pringles crisps containers which also have the plastic top. These are
great for the ladies just to tap. They have decorated them themselves with ordinary gift
or crepe paper, what ever is available. Everyone has a great deal of fun and they
decided they liked to drum to 'she wears red feathers' and one or two other songs. The
drum sticks we made out of wooden batons and chop sticks, infact anything available at
the time. We dress up, ladies with beautiful head dresses and the men with a fez. Very
cheap from Amazon. Many many thanks for this wonderful idea.

End of Year Message 2023

Thank you for your good wishes and a merry Christmas to you and everyone who gives us all
the support that we need to fulfill this very demanding help we try to give to our people.
Sometime, as normal, we can have a bad day but we all know we can contact you and get
advice to see us through the day.
All possible happiness and good health throughout 2017,

Morning all, where ever we live in this wonderful world of ours. The Golden Carers is the ideal site for joining us all together.
May be a new idea. We/I have started a monthly News Letter. The Residents are the
reporters. One talks about the weather (easy in this country) a couple of the ladies give me an article on the state of the garden and whats growing and some of the wild life they see.
then articles of 'days gone by' - only a couple of lines, perhaps about their school days and what uniforms they wore. Once one starts talking they all join in.
I type/print the News Letter off and each person gets a copy and one is put on the notice board for staff and visitors can read. It has become a fantastic success so hopefully we can continue with it. Just as a pointer it's only two pages long and I try and put a couple of clip art and perhaps a photo in. Just an idea. Hi Clare,
This is not what you asked for but wandered if "The Daily Sparkle" Reminiscence
News Paper would be of any interest. Used to find it quite helpful and it's still being
printed.
