Hello everyone. I have questions? In your facility they are short on CNAs. You have an memory care activity assistant. They pull from activities to work on the floor. But, residents go without activities due to them pulling your assistant nearly every day. You as the Activity director is trying to cover for the main and memory care. What do you do? When is enough a enough? How would you approach this issue? Because I have told them to stop. I have done everything. Am I wrong for telling them my assistant was hired for the activity department? Any advice
Morning. I love your Who Am I activity I use them for celebrity jeopardy and other games. Can you do a Who Am I for famous sport players like boxing, football, basketball and so on. I think this would be a great cognitive activity for the men.
Morning. When I go to the blank calendar form to enter our activity information the calendar is messing up. The blue is moved over to the line are half way into the other day. Some numbers are covered up by the blue space. Just wanting to let you know about the issue. Thanks
Hi Nina. We are not In room only lock down (yet) . But still not able to have any groups. I know how you are feeling about doing the run around and being so exhausted at the end of the day. But I keep going and keep smiling because some are becoming depressed. So This is what I am doing for them in their rooms: Activities for 1 this consist of jigsaw puzzles, word search, reading/audiobook, trivia boards, solitaire, outdoors(patio), planting, writing, and flower arranging. Art for 1 Painting/tape, looking at pictures, adult coloring, mosaic, door hangers, sketching and making cards. Table games for 2 scrabble, checkers, cards, UNO, connect 4, balloon tennis, family feud and dominoes this one is done with me due to they can’t be together at this time. I have this on my calendar and I created a card to hang in there room so they can pick what they would like to do. I do DIY bingo on the same days and time as if we were still doing this as a group. They look forward to this one. Keep doing the great job I know you are and this too shall pass.
Hello. I hope Christmas was kind to everyone. I like the Who Am I monthly birthday pictures i use them with different type of activities. Is there anyway you could create What Am I pictures of different utensils, cars, furniture etc. that could be used for dementia residents for reminiscing and Who Am I Tv shows and movies.
So glad I found you, your site is such a blessing to me 😊. I have been a PCA for 17 yrs. I am in charge of making up the monthly calendar and coming up with new ideas. It was starting to be a real challenge. I encourage all my residents to join in daily but they need new things offered to hold their interest. So glad I took a chance and signed up with you!!! You're making my job a lot easier. Thank you and keep up the great work !! It's so appreciated.
