Hi colleagues I do a Tombola FUN raiser. Cap in hand for donations. Make bunting. Table set up with laminated numbers. Ressies get 2 numbers. Plus lucky door prize. While waiting for everyone to turn up, do a fun quiz. ( no singing out,, put up your hand..otherwise the same ppl answer questions) mens and ladies prizes. Hankies, plants, chocs, chips, flowers etc. was a great morning. Will gather gifts for another in December. If rellies come, a gold coin donation. Residents had a ball. Im also laying foundation for Teddy Bears picnic. Get as many bears as possible. Baby clothes from Op. craft day, dress up bears ready for picnic. Morning tea outside. Quiz, songs. Perhaps type out lyrics for Elvis Presley Teddy Bear. And others with my music sessions, the residents like songs typed out. Not for all, for some we just use memory. Cheers.
I am an activities officer at a facility in QLD. I love teaching our residents a new song. Lately we have not only been learning the beautiful Hawaiian song Pearly Shells but we are learning the Hawaiian dance, hula, sitting down. Its awesome exercise and very beautiful. I found the guide on Youtube.
I absolutely love this website and get most of my daily activities from it. Love the monthly diary too. It has so much to offer for different stages of dementia residents. I love the artwork, games, and quizzes which we use every day. People are constantly asking where do I get my ideas. Thank you so much!
