Does anyone else work in a hospital? I work in a large acute hospital in London. Most patients are here for a short time (days, weeks) with some here for months awaiting a care home. I thought it may be nice if anyone else works in a hospital with patients in awaiting a placement to start a pen pal service? It may just be a couple of patients at a time who would be interested. I wondered if it would be something we could continue when the patient goes to the care home. This would be a source of continuity particuarly for patients without loved ones.
I would like to thank you all for everything you've done to help people like us, giving us the new ideas and confidence to carry on doing what we do. As you must be aware it's not the easiest job in the world, especially trying to get a smile out of someone. I wish you all the possible good wishes for the future and do hope you will continue for many years to come.
