Hello All, I would like to do family events in my facility. Last week we did a "family sip and paint" with minimal family participation. What kind of events do you do in your facility? Do you have a better night of the week? How do you extend the invite?
Hi Victoria, you could try requesting residents' relatives 'help' via the monthly newsletter when making decorations for an event for instance. Asking for help may inspire relatives to commit themselves for an hour or two. Also, HIgh Tea is another opportunity for a family gathering; make it worth their while so they will come back for more. High Tea with a little pomp and ceremony could do the trick. Don't feel bad; keep trying. All the best of luck!
This site has meant the world to me. It is so broad and covers a lot of aspects of Elderly living. I am so confident about presenting my activities to my Residents, as we find it stimulating, both physical and cognitively
