Have a Picture Scavenger Hunt using old or multiple calendars.
I used this idea the other day. I was donated many calendars and since most if not all the residents have a calendar or two already, I could not throw them away! Almost all were duplicates it was easy to cut the pictures away from the calendar grid and post them in different locations. Quick and easy activity to get everyone moving and chatting to each other. post and number the pictures, create a handout for their name and a space where they can write down the location/s where they found the corresponding picture.
Hi Shelley Yes sounds great It is so nice when people make donations that you can use It shows your creativity being able to come up with this simple but fun event Thanks for sharing it
I did a St. Patrick's Day Scavenger Hunt with Google photos of famous places in Ireland. Very similar to the Mardi Gras scavenger hunt on this site. Both were huge hits with my residents! Love the idea of using old calendars...will keep that in mind for rainy day activities this spring and summer. Thank you!
I just recently joined this site also and let me tell you it is WONDERFUL!!!! I am an activity director at a senior center and not only do our older seniors enjoy it but we also have a group respite program geared towards participants with dementia and Alzheimer's, that respond really well to the trivia/quizzes that the website offers. I am so thankful to have this site as a resource to assist with enhancing their quality of life!
