I do armchair exercises to music I usually start with a slower song and then have a few upbeat songs and then finish with a slower song. Here are some of the songs I use Daydream Believer, Do Wah Diddy Diddy, Push Bike song, Build Me up Buttercup, Proud Mary, The Wanderer, Dancing Queen, Twist and Shout, Oh, Pretty Women, A World of Our Own, Islands in the Stream, Beautiful Sunday, Calendar Girl, Green Green Grass of Home and Sweet Caroline. I have a few residents who come to the exercise group but don't join in but will sing along.
We use you tube move to music there's a program on there where the lady talks everyone through exercises to music our residents enjoy this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vH7PGAbaHwce . CHAIR EXERCISES for Seniors with 1950's themed music
I really appreciate this website and this is my second year using it. I am a Activity Director in mental health. We have residents from all ages at our facility so all the resources made available here can be utilized in so many ways. I am so thankful for this site and will continue using the resources for my residents
