Hi all, Just wondering if anyone has played the game Pick a Box with their members / clients. We work with senior adults who all live in their own homes & come to our groups daily. They are all quiet mobile & like to be involved. Thanks Sandra

I have done this with the ones from Activity to Go (no longer available) and the residents loved it. I had about ten boxes with numbers on them and asked the residents to choose a number rather than a category. A very successful and fun game.
I have also used the Pick a Box quizzes from the Activities 2 Go magazine and found them to be OK with my low care residents. I'm also lucky enough to still have copies of another publication from 10-12 yrs ago called Focus on Activity and they have great trivia quizzes in them and my residents really enjoy them.
This worked really well for me. Get 3 boxes for men, 3 for women and 2 for any gender. In each box place an object ( cufflinks for men, compact case for women etc). Invite a person to choose a box and then show it to everyone and then talk about it. Great reminiscing activity! People over 70 will also remember Bob Dyer and Pickabox on TV. See if you can YouTube an old session.
I just renewed my membership and going into my second year. When I got the notification that my first year was expiring, I knew I had to renew, there was no doubt in my mind. GoldenCarers is PRICELESS! As a DJ and mobile entertainer for over 38 years much of my business is with assisted living facilities and GoldenCarers has taken it above and beyond my competition. It always has something useful and too many to point out. I could no imagine running my business without GoldenCarers. You guys ROCK!
