Balloon Games

Hi Heather - we play with badminton rackets and also with feather dusters.
They love it; even clients that usually do not participate in other activities enjoy this game.

Hi, we have several dementia specific activities on the website for you to choose. Have you tried sorting colours or sorting shapes? For instance give the client a container full of clothes pegs in different colours and smaller empty containers. Demonstrate (do it with him/her) by placing all the blues in one container and all the reds in another container and so on.

Hi Katja, storyboards work well when you add a harmless caption next to the photo. It adds interest and make people laugh. For instance if the person has a glass in their hands you could write: "This is really
delicious!" or if the person is next to a cat: 'Love is a purring cat! or if two people are smiling at each other you could add: "Life is too short to hold a grudge! and so on. Also you may add stars, hearts, flowers to make it more appealing and interesting.
