Hi Matylda,
I posted activity here a few weeks back that outlines a free app that you can download on your iphone which does the bingo calling for you with the calls :)

Hi All,
I am after prize suggestions for Bingo. ??

My residents LOVE to get a prize when they win bingo and I think its a fun and appropriate thing to do.

At the moment my prizes are donations from a "Avon Lady". Whilst they are good they are getting a little tiresome. I also provide the option of freddo frogs, little bags of chips, or coffee "vouchers" more so for the men.

Any suggestions??

Hi all,
I am sure your resident's really enjoy playing bingo. It is a great activity that gets everyone involved and is really great for our patients cognitively.

I thought i would share with you a tool which i have been using for bingo: "IBingo Free". IBingo free is a mobile phone app. that calls bingo. It has many functions, such as allowing you to pick the number of numbers in the game, the pace they are called and if you want the traditional calls with them (ie 88 - two fat ladies).

To add to this, I purchased a HDMI cable and a apple lightning digital AV adaptor and this enabled me to connect my phone to the TV. Essentially what this does is displays on the TV and any associated audio whatever is on your mobile. This is brilliant for two reasons: I can turn the TV right up and everyone can hear the calls, and secondly the balls / numbers are displayed largely on the screen as they are called providing a visual guide also.

The reason i went down this path was i have a number of residents that need assistance playing bingo. Be it keeping concentration, help finding numbers, or physically moving caps. Having the numbers called and visually displayed allows me to "float" the fall and assist those that need it.

For my group of residents this has ticked many boxes in getting all involved, keeping them engaged and making bingo and even more enjoyable experience.

I have an idea that i am sure many of you have had before ... but lets get down and do it.
We need to develop a show like Playschool aimed at Aged Care fascilities, particularly those people with Dementia. If it was on TV daily, had interactive elements and elements that then can flow on to activities in centres that would be perfect.
(Copyright the idea. lol)

Hi All,
I need help running a professional Diversional Therapy program on little to NO MONEY.

I am not allocated a specific budget and I am hitting wall after wall after wall trying to get money for my program.

Sourcing quality resources, both internally and externally, to create a program to support, challenge and enhance the psychological, social, emotional, spiritual, cognitive, and physical well-being of each individual resident is very time consuming and costly process. Trying to do this where the vast majority of the resources need to be free is very difficult ... help please!

Alternate prizes for bingo that i use is jewlery for women. For a few dollars the local Salvo's shop will sell me more than i need. For men its often a drink. I just generally have diet drinks to be safe. Or, i go and pick them up the local paper.
We also have a "nice" coffee machine here and thats a prize. The coupon is a free coffee with me - so I than use this as an easy excuse for some good one on one time.
