I’m looking for inspiration. The attached photo is a cardboard container measuring 20x7cm. We have heaps of them donated by the covid vaccination clinic in our community health area. Perfectly clean. What would you make from them?
Hi Sally You could ask the residents what they would like to do with it I am thinking that you could make it some kind of a pencil holder Could decorate them and put some pencils in You could use them as a kind of knickknack holder Could have all sorts I have arts and craft supplies such as magic markers glitter glue etc. Then get a big piece of posterboard and paste the finished work of each resident on the board Could have a theme
Hi Sally, you could glue them top to top, and with the help of papier-mache residents could turn them into animals like whales, crocodiles, fishes, lizards. It is a great way to recycle the donated containers and newspapers.
I just love love love this site - each time I'm glued to the many and awesome ideas to engage with our seniors. I recently downloaded some of the crossword puzzles and these seniors are fabulous to work with. That is just the tip of the iceberg. In this new chapter of my life, as semi-retired, I am so enjoying my time with seniors and watching them light up; I feel I've found a new niche. It's extremely gratifying. As to the cost of membership, it came out of my pocket - I rationalised that it was only about $3/month, less than many magazines. So keep up the GREAT work!!! Thanks again Golden Carers!!!!!

I think you could add a bit of potting mix and plant some seeds in them.
Maybe make it a bit of a competition between residents.
Good luck.
